They have new Verde Greens that they are apparently very proud of. Obviously they reopened too soon, as the greens are not completely developed yet. A bigger problem is the rough directly next to the fairway. It must be 4 to 6 inches tall on every hole! You can miss the fairway by 2 inches and lose a ball. I have played here many times and really like it, but the current condition of the rough makes it play like the U.S Open, and slows play to a snails pace. The greens need another month or so with a lot of rain.

Our senior group held its bi-weekly tournament there. It was a challenging layout even from the forward tees, but some of the greens are about gone. It's hard to understand why some southern courses insist on bent grass greens now that Champions Bermuda is available.

I have played this course under three different managements. The current management is finally taking the time to make improvements. Trees removed, cart paths and bridges repaired, and fountains added to some of the ponds. The 8th, 12th, and 18th are the true signature holes. Massive risk reward holes all over the course. But a ball off line can be turn into a lost ball due to the many hazards along the course.
